TimeWorks is a software written by a comapny called ITWORKS

This software is actually a software that work hand in hand with a finger print scanner. This finger print scanner and the software is used to record the attendance of the people. Say, workers in a comapny. The users can just press the finger on the reader and then it will record the time.

This solution is good in the sense that it can help you to calculate the time that the worker is in the company. and whether the worker is late or not.

But the most important of all is the prevention of misuse of the punch card. In the past, worker can ask another worker to punch the card on behalf of one another so you can find the timecard of Mr A punched but he is not in the company.

But there are many drawback about this system. sometimes, the finger print cannot be read properly and so that reading is rejected by the computer. Second the computer recording takes long time, not fast engough. no money to buy a new computer.

so i will try on this software and see how it goes.

Prosoft

Prosoft Comtech Company Limited

Prosoft has this plan to give out its accounting software MyAccount out for free for one year. Anyone who attend the training provided by prosoft will receive the software.

I have decided to embark on this project and went for 3 days training. Later on, found that the software is not bad so sent one accountant for the training the following week.

It was a great experience to know how far the software indutry has gone in thailand. Also how far we are behind the technology. Everything goes on, nothing wait for us. We have to keep going and going. Once you stop, you are already moving backward.

Coming back to this, The training was on 24-26 May 2005 and the speaker was quite good. The message was clear and understooded. I am now trying to see whether the software is able to fit into the business processes. If it does, then that is good. But if it doesn't. We need to have the CHANGE. It is either the change on the business process OR the looking for a new software that is able to fit the business processes.

In order to do this. There msut be a careful study of the processes in the company, document and then proposed the changes. There is no point buying the software when it cannot fit the business process and then it will be such a waste of time and money and effort.
